Weekend project...

So... the room that Dom has been sleeping in since we moved in is a yellow room with bead board... super cute nursery... so I had decided that the baby would get that room and we would move Dom into the room across the hall... the only problem is that I HATED the colors. The pic above is what the room looked like and I just couldn't put Dom in it... it really bothered me that it was so red/dark and uninviting!
So we went to Lowe's on Saturday and Darin found a color scheme that he liked that didn't require us to paint the top half of the room... which is FINE WITH ME!! Here's a pic of Darin painting the walls... (well really it's his bum but I think it's kinda hot! )

So we went with this "Peace blue color and I think it turned out quite nice!

Here's just some of Dom's furniture in the room. I am obsessed with the changing table so moved it in his room at least for now. The baby room does have a dresser with the changing table flat part so I might use that for Colton and the changing table might just stay in Dom's room till he's potty trained!

Here's Dom sitting in his car bed! What a silly idea this is. He is such a good sleeper but last night... trying to get him to lay down and actually sleep was kind of a joke. He realized that he could just hop out whenever he wanted to and well.. lets just say... he ended up in his crib last night! He needs a night light and a few other things before the bed thing will work... but I'll keep at it! :o) It's a new room, new bed, new start... change is hard!

Yay for weekend projects that actually get done! It looks much better (I think) and Dom loves his Vroom Vroom bed... even though he won't sleep in it! ;o)

Good news!

So when we first found out we were pregnant again (as in after we thought we had miscarried and found out 6 weeks later that we were still prego) I mentioned a couple names to Darin and he said that he really liked Colton. Now we have this pattern in our naming practices... with Damon I was about 36 weeks along before I came up with something Darin liked. With Jaydin, Darin decided very early and it stuck. With Dom I think I was 34 or 36 weeks along and now with this little guy... Darin decided that he liked Colton at 16 weeks. SO.... I have really liked the name until this kid on American Idol named Colton started to do well. I was like UGH! I can't name my baby after an American Idol dude... and Ugh! What if the name gets popular as he gets popular.

Well... last night... to my glee... and even though he probably didn't deserve to go home quite this early in the game... COLTON GOT VOTED OFF IN THE VERY FIRST ROUND!!! So it is with his great sorrow that I am thrilled to announce that our little guy will almost definitely be named:

Colton Stephen Adams

Hip hip hooray! :o)

He's definitely going to be a soccer player!

So this morning was the first time that Darin actually felt the little guy kick! We were laying in bed and he had his arm across my stomach and as the baby gave him a little love tap he said "whoah!" LOL!! It was so funny. Then Darin kept his hand on my stomach and seriously... he (baby, possibly aka Colton) just aimed for the hand and went to town like it was a punching bag! I love that I'm not the only one feeling him move around in there anymore... but it does make me think about the fact that he is getting bigger and if he is already kicking/punching this strong... well.. I just hope he doesn't punch right through me! ;o) I guess this is when I am grateful for my blubber layer... no baby can get through it! (It's kind of like an invincibility cloak!

Happy birthday Les!!

Just wanted to make a shout out to my bro-in-law Les on his 33rd birthday! Hope it's amazing and the only one you EVER spend away from the ones you love! WE MISS YOU!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :o)

Love US!!! :o)

Hating haters....

So today I realized that I am never going to be given permission to just be. All I want is to enjoy my pregnancy, plan a beautiful birth and love my little guy... looks like I'll spend this ENTIRE pregnancy, anxious and afraid. I just wish that people could leave well enough alone. Give up your ego and let me enjoy myself for the first time since I let you in! (Cause I felt so calm when I thought I had let you out for good!)

I've been tagged!

A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.

B. Each player answers the questions about themselves.

C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

10 Years Ago: I was in my senior year of high school... hanging out with Mindy all the time and occasionally making B sandwiches.. (LOL!)

5 Things on my To-Do List today: -Laundry -Kids to school -Run to the credit union -Drink water - Make dinner

Snacks I enjoy: Cheese, kettle corn, fruit leathers, wheat thins with fire roasted tomatoes.

Things I would do if I were a billionaire: Umm.. pay a lot of taxes. And live debt free in a home I own! I would also def. invest!!!!

3 of my bad habits: Picking scabs, using bad words, yelling!

5 places I have lived: California, Washington, Utah, Illinois and well... all over the place in Utah.

5 jobs I have had: Movie Theater, Telemarketing, Operating Room, Wendy's, Blue Cross

5 things people don't know about me: Hmm.. I think lots of people know lots about me.. but I'll try to come up with some odd ones...
- I love sour cream! It is good on everything.. especially spaghetti!
- I snore... especially when I'm pregnant.
- I used to be a runner... loved loved it!
- I am obsessive about birth!
- I really like avocados.

Umm... so I tag... Vicki, Kim, Jessicah, Jackie and Shelley...

Power out and late start day!

So yesterday a little after 4:00, our power went out for good! (It had been flashing on and off for the previous hour or so!) Subsequently.. the power did not come back on until 11:45! It was insane and cold and dark and I didn't get to see who made it into the top 24 on American Idol! GRR. Then this morning I get the word that school is postponed until 11:00! Wow! I have an appointment at 11:00 in PG so... I guess I won't be going to that! BLECK! So my boys are home and antsy to get to school because IT'S VALENTINES DAY!!! They want to party!

Of course it could have been much worse! There was a VERY bad accident on SR-73 up towards Eagle Mountain and it took my brother in law 7 hours to get home!!! INSANE!! Darin didn't go to school last night because of the accident! It was impossible to get in and out of our area. Seriously... it would have taken him an hour at least to get through the traffic light and he would have NEVER gotten home.

So just as I was fantasizing that maybe it would not snow till next year... the poop hit the fan! I HATE SNOW!! I HATE WINTER!! BRING ON THE SUN!

Love me.

Blood in the urine...

So... since I finally started having prenatal visits I have had blood in my urine. Today makes it 8 weeks! I'm sort of going crazy and I can tell my midwife wants to nip this in the butt. I suppose an ultrasound MIGHT detect kidney stones.. but it also might not and I'm not paying for a frickin CT scan! BLAH BLAH BLAH.. anyway.. for anyone who might worry , I have a history of kidney stones and I'm quite certain that it is my kidneys that are causing the problem.

My boys are once again changing Taekwondo classes. Damon has advanced to the intermediate level classes and Master Augustine wants Jaydin to go to a class that has more children on his level so today starts the new schedule! It will be really nice for us to have class on a night Darin is home because now at least one of us can sit and watch them practice. It has become impossible to do this with Dominic because he is constantly yelling "kiop" punching, and trying to run all over the mat! AHHHH!!!!!!!

Life is semi-boring as I approach my 25th week of pregnancy. I have noticed that this baby is VERY active, safely the most active of all my pregnancies. Maybe it's all the taekwondo he's been hearing.

Oh well.. Damon gets his new belt today so I will try to post some pics!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Moving along...

So... lately I've been listening to WAY too much talk radio. On my way to my hypnobabies class I lose the signal to the talk radio station so end up listening to country. Tonight there seemed to be a theme to the music that brought a couple of tears to my eyes and reminded me that my boys are not going to be small forever and that I REALLY need to enjoy the time I have with them because eventually it will be gone. I hate pregnancy because Im so tired and self absorbed! And maybe just a little bit hornery! Anyway... I really want to focus more on LOVING being their mommy... cause soon they will be grown and I will miss the days when life was simple. I love my kids.. they are amazing... so I think I definitely need to portray that to them! Any ideas on how to get super organized?

Aren't they cute?!?! Did I mention it's the weekend and we always let them dress themselves (and don't worry so much about whether or not their hair is combed) on weekends with family?

Sledding/Snow

So it's very safe to say that in the 11 winters that I have been in Utah this is the worst! SO MUCH SNOW. Seriously.. I'm so sick of it that I want to vomit! I thought I would post some pics of the fun times we have been having dealing with and playing in snow! The first is Darin playing with the neighbors snow blower. He had a lot of fun removing snow this way and is now convinced that he needs one. To be perfectly honest, if we have anymore winters like this we WILL need one! I only wish that Al Gore's global warming theory wasn't a bunch of horse poo.... how I long for tropical winter days! ;o)

While Darin was dealing with the snow blower, Jaydin was helping shovel snow off the driveway... see... there is way too much dang snow!!

The boys' school has these amazing hills behind it and we took the boys sledding/tubing the other day! It was alot of fun but like 8 degrees outside at the time so it didn't last long! We've got to take them out again when it's like 30! We also realized that we have got to take the fabric off Darin's [fishing] tube. It just doesn't slide that great with it on!

Here's Darin and Dom on the Sled! Dominic loved sledding and even though he was practically purple after the 20 minutes we spent there... he was TICKED when we deemed it time to go! He is definietely an adventure seeker like his brothers! Growing up so fast!

One more of D and Dom on the sled. See the unbelievably thrilled look on his little face?!!? I swear he's a wild child! So that's all the sledding fun we have for now! It was hard to get pics in the snow because it was dark outside but the snow was so white! The flash was making everything darker and I found it was better to take pics without the flash.... I was bugged but so happy that I got at least a couple of cute pics!
Enjoy!

Resentment

So lately it appears that Darin is resenting everything I do. The more I do for the kids.... the more he resents me for not being equally attentive to him. I get that I just need to make sure that I think of him as often as I think of the children but how do I start? I mean... I am so annoyed by his attitude that I don't want to do anything extra for him. It's like I don't want him to win or something.... I just wish that he could talk about how he feels instead of acting like a child. It reminds me of when your older child acts like a baby to get attention! BLAH!!! I know what I need to do. I just want to do it with the right attitude and lately... I have more of a "stick it up your butt" attitude than a nurturing, kind, problem solving attitude!
